The fifth season of Sex and the City premiered on 21st July, 2002 and ended on 8th September, 2002. The season only had eight episodes as the lead actresses; Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker were pregnant at that time. Carrie now feels that her relationship with the New York City is as dysfunctional as her relationship with various men.
